During the visit, our expert uncovered several process concerns that had been overlooked. From improper equipment sizing and low pH glycol contamination to persistent emulsion formation, the plant was not operating as efficiently as it could. Through detailed technical assessments, we provided practical recommendations to restore reliability, from optimizing circulation rates and reboiler temperatures to improving filtration and cleaning strategies.
To address ongoing contamination, our team introduced QuadraBreak +, a specialized chemical solution designed to break down stubborn emulsions and contaminants. With same-day delivery of QuadraBreak +, the customer saw immediate improvement: significant amounts of contaminants were removed upon starting injection, restoring system performance. We worked closely with the team to set up continuous injection, confirm dilution with methanol, and provide on-site testing and troubleshooting procedures.
We also conducted testing of competitor-supplied ethylene glycol and identified a dangerously low pH, which could have introduced acids into the refrigeration system. Through these efforts, the customer transitioned their glycol business to Quadra, ensuring optimized, reliable operations moving forward.
