Quadra will engage Indigenous communities to build and maintain positive relationships by:

  • Engaging with the upmost honesty, openness, and mutual respect.
  • Seeking to understand how each Indigenous community wants to engage with us and focus our efforts on mutually beneficial projects.
  • Respecting unique Indigenous cultures, and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and agreements distinct to wherever we operate.
  • Recognizing the importance of the United Nations Declaration for the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission: Calls to Action.
  • Seeking input and knowledge from Indigenous communities to learn the unique histories of each community and their traditional lands.
  • Complementing Indigenous communities’ desires for socio-economic sustainability.

‘‘ As part of Quadra’s partnership with the community of Big Grassy River First Nation, Quadra facilitates the annual ‘You be the Chemist!’ science event at Pegamigaabo School. ‘You be the Chemist!’ provides the children of Pegamigaabo School with the opportunity to take part in a variety of age appropriate and hands-on science experiments that explore some of the fundamental tenets of chemistry. The students have a great time learning with the Quadra representatives about properties of matter, chemical reactions, and forces. In addition to the scientific aspects of the program, ‘You be the Chemist’ also helps to foster teamwork, critical thinking skills, and creativity amongst the students.
