Supported by Nunacor Development Corporation and Responsible Distribution Canada
With the encouragement of Rio Tino IOC starting in January 2023, Nunacor Development Corporation and Quadra are collaborating to share the journey, increasing Indigenous participation and socio-economic development opportunities within the NunatuKavut Traditional Lands. With guidance from Nunacor, the NunatuKavut Community Council (NCC), and the Government of Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission: Calls to Action, capacity-building initiatives like You Be the Chemist aim to promote and strengthen the participation of Indigenous Peoples and Youth in the communities where both Quadra and its partners operate.
You Be the Chemist Day at St. Mary’s All Grade School, St. Mary’s Harbour, NL
In alignment with the NunatuKavut Community Council’s (NCC) vision, the Quadra Mining team delivered a #YouBeTheChemist day at St. Mary’s All-Grade School on February 1st, 2024. Over 20 students participated in science experiments to enrich youth science learning and explore the wonders of science, supported by Nunacor and Responsible Distribution Canada.
At Quadra, we are guided by our core values of safety, integrity, and caring in the communities where we operate. Our Mining team aims to build business partnerships that support our partners in the resource industry while continuing to share the journey with Indigenous participation. Quadra is a member of the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), and the Mining Association of Canada’s Indigenous Relations Committee.
