Product Emergency, You Say? Quadra is on the Way!
A petrochemical facility in Alberta was at the tail end of a turnaround, about to complete loading a Molecular Sieve (MS) bed. It wasn’t until Friday morning when the site operator realized that the facility didn’t have the proper amount of High Purity Alumina Support to complete the loading. After reaching out to different suppliers, it was determined that nobody had that specific size and grade available in the Edmonton region.
With quick work from Quadra, our product manufacturer and the customer, the purchase order (PO) was sent, the order with the manufacturer was placed, and the trucking company was booked and scheduled to arrive within 36 hours meeting the deadline.
After receiving the PO past 5 PM on Friday, Quadra’s Procurement Team located the High Purity Alumina Support in Houston, Texas. The Marketing Team arranged for an after-hours product pickup from our product manufacturer, all while Quadra’s Logistics Team was analyzing multiple freight channels to ship the product to the customer in Canada. With collaboration and effort, the trucking company was booked, and the product was scheduled to arrive early Sunday morning.
Understanding energy operations run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Quadra has a robust afterhours and weekend on-call process to limit or eliminate any customer downtime.
After fully understanding the situation, by late Friday afternoon, Quadra was the only chemical vendor able to provide a solution to the customer.
